As October draws nearer, we are all flooded with Halloween stuff! Walmart, Target, and Lowe’s are almost sold out of Halloween decorations! It has gotten so bad that Michael’s is already putting it on sale to make room for Christmas decorations.
When we are picking up that candy to hand out to Trick-or-Treaters or just filling that bowl with the hand that grabs you as you attempt to snack on something sweet, we need to keep our dental health in mind. Reader’s Digest even published an article recently on the “Worst Candy for Dental Health”!

Caramels, hard candy, and creamy candy top the list. There is also a link listing healthy candy with 3 Musketeer bars, Tootsie Rolls, M and M’s, Jolly Ranchers, Blow Pops, and York Peppermint Patti’s making it to the top of this list. While these may be low in calories, they are still not very healthy for your teeth.

Just remember, most things are OK, as long as it’s in Moderation! Choose wisely, splurge Halloween night, and throw that JUNK away the next day! Brush before bed Halloween night, and by all means F–L–O–S–S! The last thing Miranda, Jennifer, or Lauren want to see is Tootsie Roll in between your teeth two months later!

If you break a tooth or get that tinge when you eat something sweet, call Carlyle Dental to let us help restore your mouth to health!
